Featured Artists

We are pleased to feature work by exceptional wildlife artists throughout our hotel. Please read on for further discovery.

Thomas Brooks

Born in Lakeland, FL, Thomas grew up around the swamps and flatlands of central Florida. As a child he realized his love for art and continued to show a strong interest in developing his talent. "My paintings begin with a moment in time that creates a desire within me to paint a particular scene. With the use of value and color I strive to create the desired atmosphere necessary to achieve the authenticity that brings the viewer into the painting."

Vivian Jendzio

Vivian Jendzio’s paintings reflect movement and the energies of life and force. Painting and drawing are automatically entwined with each other, which is intuitive through feeling and sensitivity of the subject matter.  Jendzio’s award- winning work has been exhibited throughout the United States. Combining the use of paint, and drawing Jendzio creates vibrant tensions while the underlying images and motion shows through.

Amy Lay

Amy Lay

Vibrancy, a sense of looseness, and a comfortable nontraditional style are all ways in which Amy’s paintings have been described. A 4th generation granddaughter of Oregon Trail Homesteaders, Amy lives and paints the lifestyle she loves.

Dean Little

Prior to retirement to Thomasville, Georgia, Dean spent 37 years building his own graphic art and design firm. He produced a quantity of design material on behalf of others. But this phase of his life is personal. He gets to choose anything that piques his interest, be it nature, people, or activity, and apply composition, lighting, and color to express his interpretation of the subject. He believes this is why we become artists. Having that elation makes him want to instill that same feeling in those who are searching for expression through art. For the last nine years it’s been his pleasure to be an instructor of an oil painting class at the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts, Valdosta, surrounded by enthusiastic students who share the same love of learning. To create a passion in the arts in all mediums, to present the techniques, to stand back and watch it realized and unfold. What a beautiful sight.

Ron Thomson

Thomson is an expressive realist working in oils.  His collectors often describe his work as “seemingly alive.”  Over the years, he has created a vast body of work on varied subjects and has since focused his interest primarily on his love of wildlife art and portraiture of both “Man and Beast.”  His goal is to create an encounter between the viewer and the painting subject that transcends preconceptions and previous experience and that helps create an understanding of the connectedness of all life.

Tom Faircloth

Thomasville native Tom Faircloth has combined his love of photography and of nature to share vivid images of various pollinators in their natural habitats. His collection of photographs includes a diverse array of butterflies indigenous to South Georgia and North Florida. These include Fritillaries, Swallowtails, Sulphurs, Skippers and his preferred butterfly, the Monarch. In addition to the butterflies, Faircloth photographs other pollinators and garden friends of the butterfly—a variety of bees, wasps, dragonflies, frogs, lizards—and anything else found on host plants in his Thomasville garden.
